Job Description
Innovation plays a major role in African economies which are structurally poorly equipped in infrastructure. Digitization is a salvation for the African banking sector at a point where major international players are increasingly showing interest. In this context, we are mandated to carry out a series of strategic studies of the banking innovation sector covering several African regions.
We are recruiting: 1 intern for a 12-month period (may lead to a full-time position)
Objectives
Contribute to Elgon’s convictions in payments and participate in the production of a FinTech panorama, in support of our local team. The intern will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Mapping and definition of cross-border growth opportunities for FinTechs
- Assessment of key gaps in the market with a focus on skills
- Definition of preferred financing methods and government supports to the industry
- Analysis of existing regulations
- Production of a panorama identifying major successes in payment solutions and other FinTech
- Publication of the studies on various platforms and presentation of results
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, or technology
- A first successful experience in a consulting or audit firm would be a plus
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent organizational capacity
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Knowledge of PowerPoint
- Communication English/French
Desirable skill
- Familiar with Illustrator and Photoshop
